You need a heat protectant. I have used Dove Heat Defense, and did not notice any difference whatsoever.
I recommend Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray. Very effective. Really you should just use salon products, but that is the best drugstore heat protectant.
Serums work very well too. I LOVE the Chi Silk Infusion.
Also, you want a leave-in treatment.
I find the best leave-in conditioner at drugstores is the garnier fructis. Otherwise I still use Chi Silk Infusion.
