The cheapest I’ve found is $50 a year. and that includes one domain name for free. and you can have upto 3 domains hosted without any aditional hosting fees. the site that offers this is www.entermain.com Does anybody know where I can get it cheaper?

https://www.godaddy.com/

I go with this for some years already. $3.19/month for web hosting. Sometimes domain is on sale, I bought for several years.

How big are the servers used by the largest domain hosting companies? In terms of hosting capacity and in size?

Wow Tex, that is a hard question to answer because you are being very broad in your question. To give you a simple answer, the size is different than your home computer in that servers are normally flat (not all, but most). They reside in racks on rails. The largest size is dependent on the type of server used by the hosting company. Capacity wise, you can have as many as 8 – 1tb drives and 64gb of RAM in one server with an elaborate amount of cores. These servers are expensive but they can hold numerous instances of virtual environments allowing them to be web hosting companies.

Can anyone refer to me a reliable and trustworthy company that hosts cheap dedicated servers?

Depending on your needs you can look at "ThePlanet.com" – they offer some low-end Celerons for just $69 a month in a basic configuration. They offer a very stable environment – I use them since 2004. If you want to spend a little more, take a look at Softlayer.com. You will find a lot of help on the 2 URLs listed below.

Recommended web hosting and domain name?

Where to get reliable web hosting and cheap domain name? Any suggestion?

For web hosting you can get it at Hostgator.com and for domain name I would suggest Godaddy.com, been using them for more than a year and not having any difficulties with them. Yet, it is fast to get your website Live.

You also can get discount for hostgator, 404page you’ll get to pay for 1 cent only. Or even you can search for "Hostgator coupon" at Search Engine(s)

For domain name, you can check fatwallet.com

who r your favorite website hosting companies, what would it take 4 me to be a host and do my own, c details?

and is it better to be your own server or leave that to the big guys, ive heard things like certain internet providers such as mine Charter DSL, if you try and become your own server there are sometimes conflicts with how it all works, i dont really understand but someone who might, give us a brief rundown would ya? whos some of the best companies to go through for web hosting, but that also has everything else you need to work with your site, like globalscape or somn that has cute ftp, isnt there a host and web controlling company all in one so as to minimize all the different accounts and companies you have to deal with?

Depends if you want to spend money or not. I use yahoo cause it’s a reputable company, and with the one username and password that I have for yahoo.mail I have access to all my hosting and domain services. I got a deal from them for $2.99 domain name, which I own, and actually now have 3 domains and use their server to host. The cost is minimal $11.00 a month, and I get a site tracker service that gives me the rundown of how many times my site has been visited, which pages were visited, and the average screen resolution of the computers that visited my site. I also have 200 email addresses that I can create with 2 G of space (which is expandable). There are alternatives though that cost less. IX Webhosting (www.ixwebhosting.com) is a cheap alternative. You get 10 G of space and 2 domains for like $4 a month. However, I don’t think you get any email services from them, but It all depends if you need something like that. Both Yahoo and IX will provide you usernames and passwords for FTP, all you need is the FTP program which are easy to find. If you need one go to the website below.

How to log into website with FTP host information?

July 15, 2010 - 1:28 pm 3 Comments

Our web guy gave me the FTP host information, host directory and the login and password. When I put the FTP host information in the address bar, it just takes me to our website. How do I log-in?

If you have a server panel (like Cpanel) you can log in through your server panel . .

For example: http://mysite/cpanel

Then enter your user name and pwd.

If not, then you will need an FTP client. Google "free ftp client" and you will find a few good free ones.

You will need to open the FTP client and set up your website account with your site url, user, and password and then connect. Then, you will see all the files on your server account.

What is the best ASP.NET web site hosting company?

I need also a SQL Server.

I only heard about GoDaddy.com but maybe there are more great hosting…

For small web sites, I have not found any better than GoDaddy. I have a virtual dedicated server with Windows 2003 for $36 a month. For large sites that require significant computing power, Rackspace is my preference.

If your site is very, very small (i.e., you don’t need a virtual dedicated server) try Brinkster.

Who’s got best web hosting plans?

I wanna make web site for my business(beauty salon), but there’s so many web hosts, which one is good for good price.Thx

Well, it depends on how much you want to spend.

1. The cheapest option I know is:
http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European web hosting companies, currently hosting over 500 000 websites. They have plans starting from $3.75/month. Every plan includes Photo Gallery, WebEditor (so you can build a website without knowledge of HTML), Google Adwords coupon (so you can advertise your website on google for free) and a lot more. Check them out.

2. Godaddy has a couple of nice plans:

http://www.hosttell.com/godaddy/

3. For $5.78/month I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html

Their standard price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly) but they currently have a promotion. You can use the promo code PLUS at sign up page and get the $50 discount + 2 Free domain names. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month). You can use their huge Disk Space and host unlimited number of sites on a single plan.

Disk space: Unlimited + 50GB backup space
Bandwidth: Unlimited
2 Free domain names
Price: $5.78/month ($69.40/year)

4. If you’re willing to pay $20+/monthly for hosting I recommend:
