LUMIX G3 - The Camera Is Awesome So Far With The Best Selling Price

If you have looked on having dismay as Panasonic abandoned the lover small M4/3 and instead chases an inferior and smaller and dumber and dumber form factor while using GF line, then you now have a relatively reason to be happy. It appears Panasonic is positioning the LUMIX G3 for the successor to the GF1. They might not exactly know that but that is generate an income view it. Viewed as a replacement towards the G2, the LUMIX G3 is a slight let down. Much the way the GF2 was when compared to the GF1. However, the LUMIX G3 is a superb replacement to the GF1. It is usually a little bigger but not that a great deal. The physical controls are the same but finally, there is touch screen controls and to make up for many of the missing physical controls there is the C1 and C2 modes about the mode selector. a Before continuing a thing that very few people seem to understand with one of these camera systems is the lens, not really the camera body, determines how giant the camera is. I will use extremes to illustrate the. Put a 14mm f/2. 5 at a GH2 and it seems very small to medium sized. You can't put it in a shirt pocket but it will fit inside a jacket back pocket. Also, you can get it in the small carry case. It is so small and light Profit a wrist strap and not an important neck strap. Put a 100-300mm on a LUMIX G3 and it's going to be huge and because of the contour factor really unusable.

The first thing to note about the G3 is the expense is $699. That is $100 cheaper compared to a G1 or G2 at launch and $200 cheaper versus GF1. In addition to being $200 cheaper ın comparison to the GF1, the LUMIX G3 has a constructed in EVF (would have been nicer rangefinder style) along with a swivel screen.

Another nice change out of your G2 and the GF line is a new sensor. Panasonic and Olympus were using a 3 generation old sensor atlanta divorce attorneys m4/3 line except the GH collection. The Panasonic G3 now has a brand new 16mp sensor and updated image processing engine. The G3 takes slightly better pictures compared to the GH2.

As far as IQ moves, the m4/3 are not as good as DX sensors additionally they never will be as good. The same way as DX sensors will never be as effective as FX sensors. All else being match. With that said, IQ merits some discussion nearly always people don't really understand it and many "professional" review sites confuse the whole entire issue. Here is everything you ought to understand on the issue. First each and every generation of sensors the differences concerning m4/3, DX, and FX decreases. Ultimately the difference become negligible. Where that point is depends on what for you to do. IQ is very dependent on the size of what you are going to do with the image. I think for almost all what people are doing, the differences are actually negligible. Here are a couple of examples of what i'm saying. The biggest of computer monitors is normally right at 3. 6mp. Most remain 2mp. That means to view a medium format 40mp image for a (2mp) monitor you are only using 5% in the image data. The rest is getting disposed of. For a 16mp image you are applying 12. 5% of the data. In order that means noise, detail etc is getting thrown away as you deres the image. The exact same goes with printing. The human eye can see 200-300 dots every inch (A useful piece of information is monitors once was 72 dpi and are somewhere close to 96 dpi. That means if you blow an image up to 100% on your laptop screen you are effectively magnifying from 2 to 3. Therefore, the images at 100% on the computer monitor are not likely to look as good as on paper) Applying 200 dpi, that means you need 2000x1600 pixels to print a great 8x10. If you do the math this means you need 3. 2mp to hard copy an 8x10. (At 300 dpi you may need 7. 2mp) That means in a 16mp image you are using 20% from the data. If this fits what your are performing, then any IQ differences are not vital for you. As you start printing bigger than this, the difference can be visible.

Where these m4/3 cameras excel is handling. The GH2 is the master, in my opinion, for handling. The controls are so well laid out this can be a breeze to do anything you need quickly. Additionally, the contrast based auto focus is indeed , fast, that live view is exceptionally useable. The swivel screen gives you huge options spanning a hold up to the eye only or even a fixed back screen. You can contain the camera way over your head or way down because of your feet and still frame the look.

On top of that is the light weight. It has gotten to the point i don't travel with my Nikon D7000 whatsoever. I only keep and use who for portrait/wedding/event type photography (I did however just shoot a wedding with m4/3 only. The 100-300 seemed to be my primary lens. It is a bit of slow but still grabbed some impressive shots). I usually travel with 2 GH show bodies, 5-8 lenses, and an iPad all in any Domke F4 bag. (With my G3 I will now travel with 3 bodies) All this weighs right around 10 lbs. You might also just carry the 7-14, 14-140, and 100-300 lenses and cover from 14mm to help you 600mm equivalent with 3 lenses. These lenses can be attached to 3 camera bodies and with the F4. You could even add an important 4th body and add the 20mm f/1. 4. That might still fit in the F4 plus weigh in around 10lbs.

I don't really do that much with video so I will be not really going to comment a whole lot of on it. However, video on the LUMIX G3 is much easier and more useable than any DSLR except for the Sony A33/55. Also, there is a built in stereo mic but no external connector. I don't think the latter is big deal for us.

Project Runway fans please help?

So, one time i was watching project runway, about 2 months ago. and i saw this dress. and i fell in love. but i cant fine it online. It was white, cottony, flowy, shorter in the front, long in the back, the skirt part was different pieces of fabric (almost like tinkerbell but in a great great way), the bodice was spaghetti strapped and v neck. It was one of the newer seasons 5-6-or-7???
If someone found this dress somewhere in the deep depths of the internet i would owe them my life. That IS my future prom dress.

I'm thinking it was one of Jay Nicholas' designs, specifically the dress he made for Week 5 (this past season).

Go onto the Lifetime Website for Project Runway and click on Jay's picture, then go to his Project Runway Scorecard. Click on "Quick Look" for Week 5 (he was just "in" for that week). A small picture will come up with (I think) the pretty dress of which you are speaking.
