Are there any of you out there that only feel connected to a goddess or goddessses? How do you handle rituals where you are suppose to invoke both a male and female deity? Do you just use the generic terms like god, lord, great hunter or do you call on a god who you think might be appropriate and work well w/ your matron goddess? Even if he is not your Patron? Well, our viewpoint is that the goddess was the original
deity of all mankind. She was recognized instinctively
and is genuine. Later, the Kurgan invasion occured and
the male war-chiefs introduced a male war-god, which
was designed to justify their violent actions. That god
was totally false, as were all the furthur versions of it.
So we worship the Goddess only, in any of the forms
which She may be found in different cultures. We don't
have a male deity and that's the end of that.
Some people say you "need one of each for balance",
we don't see the logic in that. This isn't a balancing act.
If a deity manifests as a goddess, and it's the only deity,
well then you just accept that and go with it. We have
plenty of men in our temple and they don't think they
need to see a male deity (just like Christian women
don't seem to worry if they don't have a female deity
there). If you can find a male deity, then worship it...
I never could, and many of my Wiccan friends tell me
they don't really think any male god exists, either.
