I have been switching from different web hosts for many years. Tried a lot of different web hosts but none of them are good enough. Please give an advice of some good web hostings so I could settle down.

My suggestion is you do the following:

1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingsthatsuck.com or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 common top hosting companies.

2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories.

3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.

Some of the best are Justhost, Fatcow and Webfaction. Best really depends on your requirements and needs. It is different from one person to another. If anybody tells you a webhost is the best, they are lying or being very biased.

I have used Homestead for years, but need a chance,
I am looking for a WEB HOSTING company that has many options, and not alot of this file can’t be used, etc.
I want to be able to either place my own template, web page I create and edit in the site builder the service offers or Build a new site with the Web Services.

Hi! One thing to remember is that when you go with a cheaper hosting company the service will reflect that to some degree. Also in terms of options most companies offer the same thing which is all you really need. Here are answers to your specific questions:

Site Builder / Template
I recommend not using a hosting companies site builder as then you will be stuck with them forever. Buy a template and customize it how you want and host that with them. Then if they suck its easier to move

What is better Linux OS or Windows?
The only reason you need Windows is if you want to use ASP or something like that and Windows hosting tends to cost more. For a simple website just go with Linux. You don’t need to know anything about Linux to use it as you will just be using FTP to upload your files and the hosting companies control panel which will be really simple!

Do I need any special software, or does it work the same?
Nope you don’t need any special software, it all works the same. Even if you moved to a Windows host it would work fine in most cases.

So which host?
Your requirements are pretty broad as you probably want to spend about $10 dollars a month and just need a small linux package. Here are some recommendations:
