Hi, Didn't mean to start a 'war'... I currently have a gas furnace (about 5 years old) and AC Condenser outside (both Lennox), and I have ducting in place for forced air and returns. My place is about 2000 sq ft and was really just trying to get a 'rough' price for how much these systems cost (the Carrier Heat Pump, etc), since there is no way of finding on-line list prices on these. You are all correct so far that I am not an HVAC pro (I am actually a Video Engineer), so I do not have intimate knowledge of the industry. Just figured I would get a rough price (are we talking $5k, $10k, $20k) before I waste a HVAC professionals time. I will answer any other details if it helps me get a rough price.

I am going to guess you have about 4 tons. It might be less depending on your climate. If you were in california where wages are high $8,000 to $10,000 installed price is about right.
